The objective of CARE Home is to provide support for people living with HIV/AIDS and especially those who experience rejection, ostracism, denial of human dignity and lack of affection and love amidst abject poverty in the States of Karnataka and Kerala.
In the States of South India, over 1.5 million people are estimated to be infected with HIV-AIDS. Their agony becomes excruciating when this infection affects them for no fault of theirs. "To Err is Human" - this being the dictum, what can we do to lessen the sufferings of these brothers and sisters? It is to reach out to these people living with HIV/AIDS that the Claretian Missionaries set up CARE Home.

CARE Home provides regular counseling to persons
with HIV/AIDS at their homes from May 1998 onwards.
During the family visites special attention is given to
counsel the the family members as well as demonstrate to them
visits the family of the patients at least once in two months.
Though HIV spreads like wild fire, most people do not have clear idea about it's transmission. Many people have unnecessary fear. It is here CARE Home team comes with education and awareness programmes for rural people, adolescents, Youth and people having risk behaviours.
